The Civil Rights committee announced the Fall schedule for these well-received workshops.
On September 30\, the Workplace Bullying 101 workshop will be repeated in New Brunswick at the Labor Education Center.
A new workshop “Bullying 102”\, focusing on coping skills for targets of bullying\, will be offered on October 26 in New Brunswick\, and in October 28 in Newark.
All workshops will begin at 5\:30 pm\, with a light supper available at 5\:00 pm.

URA will join other members of the Rutgers One labor/student coalition at Brower Commons to again ask President McCormzick and his administration if they “Got Ethics?” All URA members are urged to attend.
President McCormick’s 2\,500-word email\, “Message for the Beginning of the Academic Year” caused much discussion among URA members. Most noted the contrast between the position towards the upper levels of the Rutgers workforce\: “we will proceed with awarding increases to those employees with individual\, non-union contracts or agreements” (individual contracts are essentially for executive/managerial employees and some coaches)\; while rank-and-file workers are admonished\: “we had no choice but to withhold the salary increases.”
URA President Lucye Millerand said\, “President McCormick’s message may actually make our case stronger. Old Queens is no longer saying they have no money for raises. Instead\, they are saying they have money to reward the favored few\, and stiff the working stiffs.“
Earlier this year\, URA’s legal counsel\, Bennet Zurofsky\, told our membership meeting that we must not rely on arbitration alone to protect our members. On September 24\, URA faces two critical tasks\: we will present our grievance on the July salary freeze to arbitration\, and we will join other unions and students to focus community attention on the unethical and irresponsible actions of Rutgers management.
