April 29: March on Wall Street!

04/29/2010 - 16:00
US/Eastern

Wall Street took the taxpayers' money and ran - $700 billion to be exact - and now Wall Street is back to business as usual, choking off credit, handing out $145 billion for executive pay and bonuses in 2009, and hiring an army of lobbyists to fight financial reform.

During the recession, the taxpayers were recruited to rescue
Wall Street when the big banks fell into a tailspin. Now the
taxpayers need a leg-up, so that they too can be a part of the economic recovery. However, Wall Street has fought our efforts every step of the way.

Join us with national AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka on
Thursday, April 29th so that we can tell Wall Street that it is their turn to pay up and contribute their fair share to our economy. We are 11 million jobs in the hole and Wall Street needs to do its part to create the jobs it destroyed.

The rally will be held in the heart of New York's financial
district:

Date: Thursday, April 29, 2010

Time: 4:00 p.m.

Place: Chambers Street and Broadway
New York, NY
